These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website and store located at www.cowhideimports.com (the “Site”) operated by Cowhide Imports (“Cowhide Imports,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By visiting the Site and/or purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by any policies referenced here (including our Privacy Policy, Refund & Shipping Policy, and Accessibility Statement).

Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform that enables us to sell products to you.

 

1. Eligibility & Use

You represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state of residence, or you have consent from a parent or guardian for any minor dependents to use this Site. You may not use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

2. Products & Natural Variations

Our cowhide rugs are natural products. Differences in size, color, hair direction, sheen, pattern, brandings, markings, minor scars, or patches are normal characteristics and are not considered defects. Product photos are representative; actual hides will vary. We work to display colors accurately, but individual screen settings may cause slight differences.

3. Pricing, Availability & Errors

Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may change without notice. We may limit quantities, refuse orders, or cancel any order (with a refund) at our discretion, including for suspected fraud or errors. If a pricing or availability error occurs, we may correct it and contact you before processing your order.

4. U.S.-Only Sales & Shipping

We sell and ship within the United States only.
 • Free Shipping (Contiguous U.S.): All orders ship free via UPS or FedEx Ground.
 • Processing Time: In-stock orders typically ship within 5 business days from order date.
 • Expedited Options: 3-Day and Next-Day shipping available for an additional cost.
 • Risk of Loss: Title and risk of loss transfer to you once we deliver your order to the carrier.

5. Cancellations, Returns & Exchanges

We want you to love your cowhide. Returns and exchanges are free if you’re not satisfied, subject to the following conditions:
 • Return Window: Must be requested within 14 calendar days of receiving your hide (or 7 days for Natural Off-White cowhides).
 • Condition: Items must be unused, uncut, and in the same condition received.
 • Packaging: Must be returned in original or similar packaging.
 • Restocking Fee: Returns of three (3) or more cowhides are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
 • Damage Claims: Must be reported within 72 hours of delivery; we may request photos.
 • Late Returns: Returns received after 60 days will be refused.
If we confirm a defect beyond the inherent qualities of natural cowhides, we will send a replacement at no charge.

6. Orders, Billing & Account Information

We may limit or cancel orders per person, household, or account, or those using the same payment method or address. If we cancel or modify an order, we’ll attempt to notify you using the contact information provided.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account details and promptly update them as needed for us to process your transactions.

7. Payments, Security & Shopify

All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments and its integrated payment providers, which are designed to comply with PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
Please do not send credit card details by email. For details on Shopify’s data practices, review Shopify’s Privacy Policy and our own Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site—including text, graphics, logos, photos, icons, and software—is the property of Cowhide Imports or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

9. User Content, Reviews & Feedback

By submitting reviews, photos, or other content (“User Content”), you grant Cowhide Imports a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display that content in any media for promotional and operational purposes.
You represent that you own your User Content and that it does not infringe on others’ rights or violate any law.

 

10. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Site or its content for:
(a) unlawful purposes;
(b) infringing others’ rights;
(c) uploading malware or malicious code;
(d) scraping, spamming, or harvesting data;
(e) interfering with Site security or operation; or
(f) any prohibited use under these Terms.

11. Third-Party Tools & Links

We may provide access to third-party tools or link to external sites (e.g., carriers, social media, analytics). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of such third-party tools or sites is at your own risk.

12. Privacy, Cookies & Analytics

Your submission of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Our Site may use cookies and analytics tools (including Google Analytics and Meta/Facebook Pixel) to analyze traffic and improve user experience. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or consent tools.

13. Warranty Disclaimer

Except as expressly stated, the Site and all products are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure service.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cowhide Imports and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill) arising from your use of our Site or products.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

Cowhide Imports operates as a reseller and distributor of products supplied by third-party manufacturers and distributors (“Suppliers”). Certain items may be shipped directly from our Suppliers to customers.

While we make every effort to source high-quality products, Cowhide Imports does not manufacture the items sold on this website and cannot independently verify all product specifications, safety standards, or manufacturing processes.

Any warranties, representations, or claims about product performance, quality, or compliance are those of the Supplier or manufacturer.

In the event of a defect, damage, or issue with a product, Cowhide Imports will assist the customer in contacting the Supplier to facilitate resolution but shall not be held liable for product defects or damages arising from the manufacturing, packaging, or shipment of such items.

By purchasing from Cowhide Imports, you acknowledge that we are a reseller and agree that your sole remedy for any product-related issue shall be limited to the price paid for the product.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cowhide Imports and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Site, or violation of any law or third-party rights.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the fullest extent permitted, and the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time for violating these Terms. Obligations accrued prior to termination (including payment obligations) survive termination.

18. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Cowhide Imports agree to resolve any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, our products, or your use of the Site (collectively, “Disputes”) through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court.
You understand that by agreeing to arbitration, you are waiving the right to a jury trial.

Arbitration Process
 • The arbitration will take place in Los Angeles County, California, unless both parties agree otherwise.
 • The arbitrator may grant any remedy available in court, including injunctive or equitable relief.
 • Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class Action Waiver
You and Cowhide Imports agree that any arbitration or proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis, not as a class, collective, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate multiple claims.

Small Claims Option
Either party may elect to bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration if within jurisdictional limits.

Opt-Out Right
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of your first purchase by emailing support@cowhideimports.com stating your name and request to opt out of arbitration.

19. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California for any dispute that is not subject to arbitration.

20. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Changes are effective upon posting to the Site with a revised “Effective Date.” Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
